Erik is a Northern California filmmaker and music artist who has been involved in video and film production since junior high school, and screenwriting and directing since 2007. He grew up in the Sacramento area and moved to San Francisco in 2009 to study screenwriting and cinema production at San Francisco State University, graduating in 2012 with a B.A. in Cinema Production. Since then, he has written, directed, and edited an array of vignettes and short films, including the dark comedy, WORST LOTTO TICKET EVER (2016).
He loves to collaborate with other artists to seek, create, and share intelligent, expressive, and important ideas. He’s currently a video producer and filmmaker, and was involved as an assistant director for various film projects with Scary Cow Productions, including SNATCHING LOVE (2019). He also produced a feature anthology film called CA SHORTS (2020) with several Bay Area filmmakers, and is currently developing a sci-fi thriller miniseries that he will direct.
As a video producer, Erik has written, produced, shot, and edited independent films, promotional videos, groundbreaking events, and corporate content (both external and internal). While at Discovery Digital, he transformed news scripts about technology, culture, nature, and events from around the world into engaging videos that garnered hundreds of thousands to millions of views online.
At Springboard, an e-learning platform, Erik has organized, produced, filmed, and edited curriculum videos, tutorial series for UX design and data science, as well as promotional video content while managing the YouTube channel, featuring tech influencers that increased online engagement and attracted new users to the website, including new student applications.
He helped produce and build out the video series Student Success Stories, garnering around 250K-300K views per month for the YouTube audience.
